Fortnite World Cup 2019 Update

Don’t worry. If the math doesn’t seem to be adding up it’s because Fortnite will be holding weekly $1,000,000.00 events after the Fortnite World Cup Finals as well. The only catch is you have to be at least 13 years of age to participate and those between 13 and 17 need parental permission.

After a slight setback in the Duo Gauntlet test to adjust scoring and leaderboards, it’s looking like it is up and ready to go.

Importance of proper data classification in organizations

Whereas in our day-to-day personal computing, data asset management isn’t too much of a priority and things land where they may, organizations need to know how to classify the different types of data they manage, especially in the case of potential loss.

Data classification is a multi-step process that involves properly tagging data according to several factors, including data state, format, and level of sensitivity.

Classification is also important to keep in line with several regulations, including GDPR, or the General Data Protection Regulation, which just went into effect back in May of 2018 in order to protect the personal data of all European Union citizens and visitors. GDPR is being called the most important change in data privacy regulation in over two decades.

The data classification process starts with data discovery, which allows an organization to identify the location, volume, and context of data. Augmented reality games like Pokémon Go have had a huge impact on the gaming industry, and these titles seek to impose the virtual gaming world on reality. ARGs may have taken inspiration from The Matrix, the film in which Keanu Reeves has to be woken up from his false life in the virtual world to adventure out into the real world. In the classic 1999 sci-fi, Neo sees clues around him that his world may not be all that it seems, and decides to “go down the rabbit hole” to find out what is going on. With ARGs, there are similar themes, and most of the time games aren’t even announced. Instead, eagle-eyed gamers will spot things around them which give them information about a game. There are real-life puzzles where players have to find clues and work out where to go next. The games attract a lot of players whose shared knowledge can help all those involved solve puzzles.
With the emergence of alternate reality games, players have become even more curious than they were before in the search for new titles. They are now known to hunt through job listings and LinkedIn profiles to find clues. It has also led to game developers to get more creative as gaming communities have proven how capable they are at discovering evidence.

Overwatch, Call of Duty and FIFA are all games that are popular in the West and the East but they can’t do it alone. That’s why the popularity of Fortnite, which is played by more than 125 million people and has featured in mainstream news reports around the world because of its success, stands to change things. With more megahit multiplayer titles like this making waves across the world and appealing to gamers no matter their location, eSports will become more popular too.

eSport Needs Better Narratives

The meta of these games is also complex and can be difficult to understand but something that most seem to ‘get’ is human emotion. eSport is filled with huge potential when it comes to drama: from underdog teams to players who succeed even though they practice with massive lag or have parents who don’t support their eSports dreams. Or the fan-favorite teams who have star players that everybody loves. Traditional sports have tapped into this with betting and the rise of eSports betting shows us how the sector is becoming more mainstream. The League of Legends World Championships are currently taking place, for instance, and eSports odds only give fans more of an idea of who to look out for. It will take a lot more than that, but it’s a big deal nonetheless.
